Advaita Garden & schools across Alwar district
An eight-day open-air festival where children of the Nat and Raj Nat (Kanjer) communities draw and paint alongside children from mainstream schools, guided by eminent artists from India and abroad. Around 1,000 children take part each year.
Urban slums, Alwar
A ten-day cricket tournament organised for children of the urban slums, designed to bring communities together — and to identify and train Childline volunteers from among the players.
Village ponds, historical sites & reserve forests
The foundation marks Earth Day with a shramdaan to dig ponds and build check dams that catch monsoon run-off, alongside clean-up drives at historical sites, fairgrounds and reserve forests to clear plastic waste for recycling.
Advaita Garden, Shyam-shah forest retreat & Hajipur panchayat villages
A festival of tree planting celebrated every year through the monsoon. Thousands of saplings have been planted at Advaita Garden, the Shyam-shah forest retreat, and across the villages of Hajipur panchayat.
Advaita Garden
A festival of folk music and dance held every year at Advaita Garden. Rural folk musicians, identified through the foundation's ongoing research into village fairs, are invited to perform for a stage and an audience they rarely otherwise reach.
Advaita Garden
A traditional wrestling festival that draws wrestlers from Alwar district, Haryana and Delhi, along with 4,000–5,000 spectators from the surrounding villages.
Bodhivriksha schools
An in-house seminar held annually for the teachers of the Bodhivriksha schools, where they describe real classroom situations and discuss how they resolved them through peaceful dialogue.
Gajuki village
Held in honour of the Nat and Raj Nat communities, Deepotsava sees earthen lamps lit by the women of Gajuki village alongside the teachers and students of the Bodhivriksha schools.
Pipalgarh Nat Basti
The festival of colour is celebrated every year at Pipalgarh Nat Basti with the children of the Bodhivriksha school and the wider community. A waterless Holi, played with natural colours, keeps the celebration kind to a water-scarce village.
Government & NGO-run children's homes
The foundation celebrates Rakhi with children living in government homes and homes run by other NGOs — a get-together where the children tie rakhi on one another's wrists.
Villages of Hajipur panchayat
Each winter, the foundation prepares a list of elderly people in the villages of Hajipur panchayat who are not looked after by their families, and distributes woollen blankets and old clothes according to that list.
NGOs and heritage sites across India
Members and staff of the foundation's various projects take an annual study tour — exposure visits to other NGOs and to historical, natural and cultural destinations.
Alwar district
Founder Nirvana Bodhisattva and secretary Sunita Mittal were invited by the district administration to run the INTACH Alwar Chapter as Convenor and Co-convenor — conducting nature and heritage walks, training programmes, campaigns and seminars on preserving the district's historical, natural and cultural heritage.
